Strata, cheese and onion

Instructions
Whisk wet ingredients in a small deep ovenproof dish. Break bread into small chunks and add, with onions, seasoning (oregano or dill are nice additions) and most of the cheese to the dish. Fold gently with a spoon to mix. Top with the remaining cheese, a little more pepper (image shows cheddar topping). Let it sit for while the oven heats so that the bread takes up the liquid. Bake in a hot oven for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
